Something to consider when purchasing a video doorbell, is what happens to the footage? Where is it stored ad for how long? And do you want to pay a subscription fee?
Many people who are first time buyers for a smart doorbell, may be unaware that not only do you buy the doorbell, you pay a monthly subscription to access YOUR footage!! It may seem like a small amount of money, but you are paying to have them store your archival footage in their cloud. And the companies often have built in securities to prevent you from saving to your own hardware, phone, SD card, etc. And many companies usually delete the archival footage after a 30-60 day period. This doesn’t sound very enticing to me, as a buyer.
We recently found a version that does NOT require a subscription. It records to a micro SD card, although there is a cloud option if you prefer! You are in control of your archival footage! Small differences like these matter in making your day to day life easier!
