When Microsoft produces an operating system they typically will service it for 5-ish years. Well January 10, 2023, was the end of that life cycle for Windows 8.1. Yup, RIP to that “Wonderful” (100% sarcastic there) operating system.

There are no security updates, support, or software updates anymore. Anyone still running Windows 8.1 should not have that machine on the internet EVER and should upgrade to Windows 10 or newer ASAP.
